Friday Update 0.3.2 - August 27, 2021


Changelog

  • Talents have been added.
    • Talents are abilities that characters can use. They can be passive, requiring no activation, activated, or toggled. The player's talents are displayed at the bottom of their screen on the hotbar.
  • Effects have been added.
    • Status effects are conditions that characters can be put under. Bleed is one such effect that causes damage over time. Effects are typically the result of talent use, and are displayed for the player in the top right of their screen.
  • Mouse-based movement and targeting has been implemented.
    • By clicking on the ground, an indicator will appear showing the route your character will path along to the desired cell. By clicking the desired location a second time, the player character will automatically path to that location. 
    • The mouse can also be used in conjunction with talents, eliminating the need for keyboard-based targeting
  • A new environment has been added, called Fungus.
  • 6 new tier-1 enemies have been added.
  • Enemies can now make use of talents.
  • The player can now rest to regenerate their resources (such as health) quickly. Just press "Z" while there are no enemies visible.
  • The "hitpoint" system has been replaced with "resources".
    • Resources include Hitpoints, Stamina, Psi, Oxygen, Hunger, Thirst, Morale, and Stimulation.
    • Regenerating resources are displayed in the top right of the screen.
  • Laid the foundation for "juice"...
    • Juice is the fun word for visual effects displayed during actions like combat and movement.
